I'm Amit, a seasoned product designer with 10+ years of experience. I specialize in research, prototyping, usability testing, and interaction design. Crafting user-centric product experiences is my passion. I'm eager to collaborate with product teams and startup founders to bring their visions to life!

Location

I grew up in Bombay, but I soon realized that the big city life wasn't for me. Now, I call the outskirts of Pune home, nestled right next to a majestic mountain range. It's a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban living.

Design process

We follow the Double Diamond design model: Discover - Define - Develop - Deliver. Each project is unique and requires a different approach. Personally, I prefer the lean UX model for product design.

Superpowers

I possess the ability to perceive both the high-level business direction and the intricacies of design. Moreover, I excel in designing interactions and comprehending the user's perspective.

Kryptonite

My kryptonite, or in other words, my weakness or vulnerability, lies in missing deadlines, being tardy for meetings, and showing disrespect.

Most productive time

I wake up early and begin my day with 90-minute focus sessions until mid-afternoon. I'm not very productive during the afternoon hours, so I take a break until the evening when I start working again. I work until I finish my tasks or feel sleepy. I prefer days with fewer meetings.

Improve at

I aim to improve in various areas, such as writing clean front-end code quickly, creating faster prototypes, conducting more effective user research, enhancing my design documentation skills, delivering engaging presentations, and providing better support to help others succeed.

Not improve at

The backend engineering concepts that I often struggle to comprehend during meetings with engineering stakeholders.

Music I love

My music tastes are eclectic, ranging from legendary bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd to modern artistes like Chet Faker and Alt-J. I am a big fan of R&B, with Nina Simone being one of my favorites. When it comes to dance music, I cannot get enough of Boiler Room mixes and Trip Hop. My taste in hip-hop is only limited to the lyrical genius of Kendrick Lamar. Finally, I find myself drawn to the heavy, thrashing sounds of Pantera when I'm in the mood for something more aggressive.
